Cosmo - Virginia Bruno Image
Cosmo was rescued as a puppy just one month before my brain tumor diagnosis. The sudden seizure and subsequent 2 week stay in the hospital for brain surgery meant he would have to stay at a kennel for that period of time. Of course once we got back home we also had to manage his puppy energy, training, and all the stresses of helping him re-acclimate while new rules were set in place as my brain could not handle too much stimulation. It soon became apparent that he was dealing with separation anxiety. We have spent a lot of time and money working through the challenge, and he is finally starting to adjust (a few years later). Cosmo provided comfort during the steroid induced sleepless nights, medication side effects, seizures, mental health struggles, and all the moments in between. At first we didn't know how we could manage raising him in this very tough time of our families journey, but we are beyond grateful that we stuck it out as he is truly one of a kind!
